Hen House Market
Fresh kosher meat can be purchased at the newly remodeled Hen House Market, 11721 Roe Avenue, in Leawood, Kansas 913-338-0600. Its Kosher kitchen features a delicatessen with such items such as sushi, rotisserie and fried chicken, smoked meats, beef brisket, deli sliced meats, salads and other meat and pareve items. Several shelves are devoted to kosher dry goods. Also, the Hen House bakery Department offers dairy cakes, cookies, Tippin’s pies and a variety of pareve breads and packaged pareve items. A café area with tables and chairs for eating in can be found at the front of the supermarket.

The Rams Café, located inside the Jewish Community Center Campus, and operated by the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy PTO, is open Monday through Friday during the school year (closed on holidays and school vacations). Patrons can enjoy breakfast, lunch and snack foods. It is run solely by volunteers — primarily HBHA parents and grandparents — as well as some members of the Jewish community at large. The proceeds benefit the HBHA PTO and help to support all the programs and events that the PTO sponsors throughout the school year. For current hours or more information, call 913-327-8207.

Lunch is $5 for individuals 65 and older. Lunch for younger family members and friends is $7. Walk-ins arriving after 10:00a.m. cost $7. Service is at noon.
A standard meal of gefilte fish, chips, beets and applesauce are served. Alternative entrees of garden salad, egg salad, gefilte fish or tuna salad are available, with prior notice, by 10:00a.m.
All proceeds benefit the Heritage Center.

Don’t feel like cooking? How about keeping a little bit of Bubbe’s Kitchen in your freezer for a quick and easy meal? Bubbe’s Kitchen is Vaad supervised and the following items are available for sale:
Blintzes, Cabbage Rolls, Matzo Ball Soup, Salmon Patties, Mushroom Barley Soup, Spaghetti Sauce
Rachel’s Café, located inside Village Shalom, 5500 W. 123rd St., in Overland Park, Kansas, is a kosher lunch spot and gathering place reminiscent of an upscale coffee shop. Rachel’s Café offers a selection of salads, sandwiches and desserts, pizza and hot daily specials. Please note, both dairy and meat are sold at the counter, they are marked accordingly on the menu. Princess Gardens Restaurant
8906 Wornall Road in Kansas City, MO., frequently schedules kosher Sunday evening dinners. Both eat-in and take-out are available for authentic Chinese food.
